  7.     Members of an elite South Carolina country club thought the
  8. crest seemed familiar. So closely did a Ralph Lauren emblem,
  9. right, resemble the golfers' heraldic device, left, that the
  10. club sued for trademark infringement. Last week a judge forbade
  11. Polo/Ralph Lauren to use the logo and required payment of
  12. $100,000 in legal fees and $250,000 to Pine Lakes International.
